What is this community?
The INNER CIRCLE is a private, paid online space hosted by Black Women in Asset Management. It’s designed for those at the mid- and senior-level in their careers working in asset management, finance, or at the firms that support the industry (legal, consulting, etc). It’s where we build powerful connections, lead with conviction, and grow careers that are abundant in both purpose and pay.

I was part of BWAM’s old online community—do I still have access?
If you previously joined our earlier online space, you now have 'Guest Membership' access. Login immediately for instructions on how to upgrade to Full Membership.

How is the INNER CIRCLE different from the BWAM WhatsApp group?
WhatsApp is still active for quick updates and informal messages.
This platform is different. It’s a dedicated space where you’ll find structured conversations, member-led meetups, expert-led sessions, downloadable resources, and replays—all searchable, organized, and easy to return to.

How do I join?
Guest membership is free to join. As a guest, you can access free resources, perks and see upcoming events. 

Full members are accepted through a quarterly enrollment period. Details on the upgrade process will be provided once joining the Guest membership.

How does the referral process work?
All paid members receive a personal referral link. If you’re referred, you can join directly (after payment). Referrals can be accepted at any time—even outside of the quarterly intake period.

What does “mid- to senior-level” mean?

It usually means you’ve spent about eight years or more in full-time, post-graduate work—long enough to own client relationships, lead projects, or manage a small team. Job titles vary by firm (Senior Associate, VP, Director, Counsel, etc.), so we focus more on scope of responsibility than on a specific label. If you’re earlier in your career but already operating at that level, or moving there fast, feel free to join the waitlist. Our goal is a space where members can both give and get high-impact support, so we look at experience, readiness to contribute, and alignment with the community’s purpose.
